Is it true that Nigerian music is growing?

I think we should just draw the line on what Nigerian music really is.

Musically for any type of music to be attached to any country it must be sung in the language of that country. So in this context Nigerian music will have to be those sung in the different languages of Nigeria.

What we can really see making waves is music made in Nigeria. What is music made in Nigeria? Well any type of music will pass.

Fuji, juju, hilife, afrobeat and all other music in Nigerian languages cannot be seen as growing right now.

No young guy or girl is coming out now calming to be into Fuji or even doing juju.

So do you still think that Nigerian music is growing?

Unless you develop that which u where born with u will always be a phase behind if you try to develop what others were born with.

Seriously, is it true that Nigeria music is growing?

Is it true that we can gladly export the music that we make here?

When will we be able to see Nigerian musicians invited for shows in America or music festivals like we have star mega jam in Nigeria?

Why is it so hard for our artist to get on the billboard?

I can't see fuji music being improved upon, even hilife music is not taken to another level, we are even deaf to the importance of Afrobeat.

Hip-hop is not Nigerian music; R&B too is not. Most notable & world musician has been able to fuss a lot of elements to improve their music.

So let’s stop fooling ourselves because our video is on mtv that those not mean that Nigerian music is growing.

We cannot build a skyscraper from the top; we need to work on the foundation. We need to work on the rudiments and build up a generation of musician that will be able to match up anywhere.

The foundation of forces driving music in Nigeria does not have the right mechanism to support its growth.

Let’s take a look, how many our big shot can boost of a vocal coach, how many have bands, how many can point to a music director, a dance instructor or business manager.

Rome was not built in a day but Rome can be destroyed in a day, mediocrity has been with us for a while and I think we can stop it.
